"After sustaining a terrible injury running into a black bear in the summer of '11, followed by surgery and then a year of physical therapy, I set an ambitious goal of being the top female triathlete in the nation, in my age group (W55-59), at every distance.

I succeeded.

It was a challenging journey, and one of the most important parts of the formula that helped me to attain my goals, was nailing my nutrition.

After 25 years in the triathlon game, I eventually learned that my successes and failures were directly related to my overall nutrition plan. Consistent, repetitive success came from following a low glycemic diet. Particularly, eating Samurai Cereal before each of my "A" races, I had a fool-proof guarantee of sustainable energy from the start to the finish of each event. I top it off with a banana, dried cranberries, walnuts, and a small amount of cream for additional calories. My stomach stays settled and full for hours. It's the perfect meal for the perfect race.

I also learned that age is just a number. I'm 56, and I regularly finish ahead of women half my age. I work very hard, but having confidence and experience are equally valuable."

"Samurai Cereal is awesome! Tastes great and gives you the energy for a long day on the bike -- it really helped fuel me up before a tough National Championship's course!"
